R.E.A.D. Redefined - Reading Speciality Teachers

R.E.A.D. Redefined is designed to equip educators with the knowledge necessary to successfully teach students to read, write, and spell. This is a research-based structured, systematic, and explicit reading methodology designed to reach all students. This course has received the highest level of Accreditation, Accreditation Plus, through the International Dyslexia Association, ensuring best practices for therapists and students.

This intensive course is broken down into two instructional components and two practicum components. The instructional components are two full weeks each and are typically offered one year apart to allow educators adequate practicum experience between them. The practicum components provide opportunities for educators to learn direct, explicit and systematic instruction from the program creators and ensure fidelity and proficiencies in the R.E.A.D. program for our students who struggle with literacy including those who have been identified as dyslexic or with a Specific Learning Disability.

What sets R.E.A.D. Redefined apart? We self-publish our books because we understand the importance of staying current in the science of reading.

As educators we have seen deficits in comprehension. Students require vocabulary, oral language, and background knowledge to advance their overall understanding of text. The R.E.A.D. program incorporates extensively  develops these specific skills in a unique format, ensuring engagement of all students.

R.E.A.D. Redefined Certification Options

  • take and pass the KPEERI for CERI certification at the Interventionist or the Dyslexia Specialist level (highest level of CERI certification)

  • Seal of Literacy


R.E.A.D. Redefined Coursework

The R.E.A.D. Redefined course is designed for all Reading Specialty positions within a building. (Title, ESOL, Reading Specialists, Special Educators, etc.).

Within the two year program, educators submit a total of 10 proficiency recordings that demonstrate very explicit and structured procedures. Five recordings are completed the first full year, and the remaining five completed by the end of the second year.

  • 80 hours of synchronous seat time

  • 20 hours practicum

Year 2

Planning, Application, Assessment, and Evaluation

  • 80 hours of synchronous seat time

  • 20 hours practicum


R.E.A.D. Redefined Cost

Cost reflects the total for each full year within the training program. Practicum courses are included and require no additional fee. Cost is per person. Payment is expected in full 3 weeks prior to class introduction.

  • $500 digital fee for student books
