LEARN HOW TO APPLY THE SCIENCE OF READING AND STRUCTURED LITERACY TO ANY READING CURRICULUM.
District provided curriculums say they are based in the science of reading, but how do you access that information and more importantly, how do you teach it?
Literacy Redefined is the application of the research to any district provided curriculum.
Literacy Redefined is a 5 day course designed specifically for classroom teachers.
This “I do, we do, you do” type course has teachers bring their district provided curriculums to a synchronized class and learn how to pinpoint each Structured Literacy component for any curriculum. Classroom teachers will identify the key components as we go through them, peer teach colleagues, plan lessons with district provided curriculum, and apply these skills with students.
What sets us apart from other application courses?
Our experience sets us apart! Our Structured Literacy team not only hold current Kansas teaching licenses, but have also worked as classroom teachers in both public and private schools all throughout the midwest. Our instructors have a combined experience of working with every grade from Kindergarten through 8th grade as a classroom teacher and/or Intervention Specialist applying these best practices with students. Our instructors, continue to work in the field with students, implementing these evidence-based strategies every day.
This curriculum agnostic program allows teachers to move within their grade levels of licensure and from one district to another district within any state. This course is an investment in our educators.
